French Foreign "Legion" is consider the best army in the world with a mission of fighting a sacred war honourably, fidelity to its unit and strong esprit de corps ( the capacity of a group of people to pull together persistently and consistently in pursuit of a common purpose).
Legion is a unique unit in the French Army, established in 1831 , specifically created for foreign nationals ( Germans -50%, Italy-15% , Belgium -5%, France-25%, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Russian) wishing to serve in the French Armed Forces, but commanded by French officers head quarters in Aubagne, Southern France and birthplace in Algeria.
The Legion was primarily used to protect and expand the French colonial empire during the 19th century, but it also fought in all French wars including the Franco-Prussian War and both World Wars including First Indo China war and Gulf War.
